About Bivins Bright Tripp & Mark Family plus Turner, McCann, Mayfield, McLaughlin, Locke Website
Great Grandma Ann Bright is my grandfather (Claude Bivins) Mom & her Dad is name Willis Porter born (abt b-1855 in Alabama listed as Mulatto in ancestry.com (1920 Census) & her Mother Elizabeth b-1860. As told to me by numerous family members, Grandma Ann was a Trip (an inside family joke) because the 3 sets of children last names are 1)Bivins, 2)Bright, 3)Tripp (there you have it she was a Trip(p) lol. So this is the lineage to my Maternal Great Grandma Ann Porter-Bright, yes she was married only 1 time to my Step Great-Grandpa Thomas Bright & my biological great-grandfather is named Jim Bivins; Confusing just hang in there maybe we all will get some sense out of it (LOL) Please continue reading may come across someone you may even know.
The Mark Family is included in the lineage too. This is my Maternal Grandma's maiden name. Grandma Curlain Mark-Bivins (married to Claude Bivins) & her father's name is Elisha Mark, his 2nd wife my great-grandmother Lucy Powell-Mark had 14 kids. I'm informed grandpa Elisha 1st wife Laura & he had 3 kids, Laura died & her mother raised her kids. There's lot to share, however, it will take sometime because this remains a work in progress all the time. Enjoy!!!

I'm adding my Father's family to the website names listed; Turner, McCann, Mayfield, Everett, Bonner, Nicholson, Yates...
In the McCann family the story is said that Hiram McCann father was called Irishman McCann, born around 1838 & immigrated to the United States in 1840 at the age of 2yrs old. As a young man, his wife was Chickasaw. They had 4 children. 1st Joe b-1858 d-1939, 13 kids in his family;
2nd Allen b-1860 d-1917, had 10 children; 3rd Hiram b-1861 d-1898, had 7 kids; 4th & last Dinah b-1863 & death unknown & no children.
Hiram McCann married Jeannie Bonner. She had a sister named Siddie & brothe named Harris. Her parents were mixed with Cherokee & Choctaw & possibly African blood.. We lived at the Mississippi & Alabama Stateline.
